Friends Mission Statement
The Friends of the Chatfield Public Library’s mission is to encourage people to use our historic Carnegie Library as a resource for lifelong learning and enjoyment. We attempt to do this by making our library a more user-friendly and interesting place to visit and use. We promote, sponsor, and host activities to increase community awareness of the library and to bring people into the library. We raise monies to provide amenities [i.e. additional books, activity prizes, etc…] not funded by the Library budget. All of our activities are conducted by members of the Friends who willingly donate their time and talents or by members of the community who volunteer [such as the gardeners for our Garden Tours].
Since 1996, the Friends of the Chatfield Public Library have raised or had contributions equaling more than $25000.00 and have used almost $22000.00 of these monies to benefit the library in a variety of ways. Detailed financial reports are available.
The Friends of the Chatfield Public Library are a federally recognized non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and all donations to the Friends of the Chatfield Public Library are tax deductible.
