with Rhonda Laurie
and Sidewalk Cafe
at the Chatfield Public Library
Thursday, February 17th, 2011 at 7:00pm
Celebrating the Library’s 96th birthday!
Rhonda Laurie is thrilled to present a new show featuring the uplifting hits of the Greatest Generation, along with the stories behind the songs and the times that inspired them.
Ms. Laurie is regularly praised for her smooth vocals and her savvy interpretation of jazz classics and of less familiar repertoire. Whether swinging à la gypsy, straight-ahead jazz, or cabaret, her approach is modern and fresh, obscuring musical boundaries. She works with the Twin Cities’ finest musicians and has performed at The Dakota Jazz Club, Artists’ Quarter, Twin Cites Jazz Festivals, Grand Marais Jazz Festival, and The Grassroots Festival to name a few.
Refreshments, including birthday cake, a chocolate fountain, punch, and coffee will be served.
