What is my Borrower ID?
Your Borrower ID is the 13 digit number below the barcode on your library card. (Don’t type in spaces when using it to log in.)
What is my PIN?
Your PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number. If this does not work, please ask library staff to check for you.
Can I return materials from other libraries to the Chatfield Public Library?
Yes, you can. They will be checked in and returned to the owning library through our daily delivery service. The only exception is Rochester Public Library. They have a different automation system from the rest of the SELCO public libraries, so we are not able to actually “check their items in” at our library. Their procedure, however, is to backdate items they receive from other libraries through delivery by one week which should allow for delivery time and prevent you from receiving an overdue charge.
Do library hours change with the seasons?
No, they don’t. They remain the same all year round.
Can I check out magazines from the library?
Yes, you can. Adult/Teen magazines go out for one week. Children’s magazines go out for 3 weeks.
Can I send a fax or receive a fax at the library?
Yes, you can. We will ask you to fill out a cover sheet for us and then fax your documents for you. If it is a long distance call we will charge you $1 for the first page and 50 cents each page thereafter. We will not charge you for the cover page.
You will be charged 25 cents per page for faxes received. The library’s fax number is the same as the main phone number: 507-867-3480.
Does the library charge overdue fines?
If an item is not returned or is damaged, the borrower will be charged a replacement fee.
Some other libraries still charge overdue fines, however. So, if you borrow an item through interlibrary loan or directly from another library, and the library that owns that item charges overdue fines, you would end up with an overdue fine if you return that item late.
